[...] BEHOLD THE LAMB: A WORD TO GODS REMNANT PEOPLE “This will cause every saint to cheer!” We are, at this present moment, staring into the face of a coming tribulation which Jesus said would surpass all others in history. Yet we are not to become enfatuated with the events which are coming to pass. We are not to be downtrodden and we are not to give audience to the lies that the enemy will hurl in our direction. Rather, we are to look steadfastly upon the Lord Jesus Christ, who causes us to be more than conquerors and overcomers of this present world. We must place our complete confidence in him. WOO HOO! [...]

Hi Frank.I'll have to check this out when time permits. As you mention, true worship should cause us to just be in awe of our God and Savior. To bring us into the presence of the Lord with a heart of thanksgiving and unbridled adoration.

I've been wanting to share an event that took place a few weeks ago. I thought about doing a post, but I'll just tell you instead as it touches on this topic. It was a Sunday morning and the worship time at our church seemed....strange. We sang, I think a total of two songs which utilized only a few words, and, while I couldn't put my finger on any unscriptural goings on, I was nonetheless troubled. I would not question the sincerety of anyone in our church. Yet I was troubled for two days afterwards and I inquired as to why this was so.

Well late Tuesday evening, while at work, I suddenly found myself thinking of my church in Virginia and the songs that they always sang. Songs like "Victory in Jesus" "There's Room at the Cross For You" "At Calvary" and many other older type songs. The lyrics and melodies began going through my mind and the joy spikes started. My church in Virginia didn't have an elaborate worship team; only sister Brown playing the piano. But they would start singing these lyrics and....it's astonishing that the roof never gave way from all of the shouting. I miss that! I REALLY MISS THAT!

Those songs; just reading the lyrics is oftentimes enough to send one into the stratosphere. As you mention, most of what passes for worship these days falls way short of these songs that were written out of genuine encounter with the Lord Jesus. We live in an age where oftentimes shallow jingles seem to be preferred over heartfelt songs of deliverance.

I'll have to check out the link when I can. I just got home from work and it's after 2:00am. Thanks for bringing this forth.

Blessings always in Jesus name.

Hi Rob,

It was not that long after being saved that I came to the conclusion that a pre-trib raprture was not Biblical. I spent countless hours researching where the idea came from. I discovered it was John Nelson Derby and the "Irivingites." They used to have , what they called, prophecy conferences. It took place at Powerscourt mansion. Lady Powerscourt was one of the followers. They had very infuletial people in attendence. Iriving was a Scotsman and would be considered "Pentcostal," today. In fact it was in Scotland, in a town named Port Glasgow that a young woman supposedly spoke in tongues and this is where we first hear the term "rapture," which is an Egyptian occultic word for levitation. Anyway, Derby got nervous of Irving and split from him. Derby went on to found the Plymouth Brethren and later Scofield and others took up his teachings. Out of this eventually came Dallas Theological school and we see a birth of the dispensationalist movement, the strongest adherents to the pre-trib rapture. Strangely enough, many Pentecostal movements would be in line with the very consevative College. Indeed the Assemblies of God hold very strongly to the pre-trib rapture theory. This was a very thin summary of the pre-trib raprute movement but you can be rest assured that prir to the 1820s this had never been taught in 1900 years........Frank

Very powerful. You are right Frank, persecution is coming back with a vengeance. The hate crimes bill was passed today which was designed to silence the church on speaking agaisnt the sin of homosexuality.

I finally took the time to follow your link and come read this article--thank you so much for sharing it on your site. Tozer's writings are always so inspirational, and this one is so appropriate. We are often lax in teaching about the wilderness seasons, and yet Scripture tells us that Jesus Himself was driven into the desert by the Spirit. May we all learn to embrace the blessing of solitude, falling headlong into intimacy with the only One who can satisfy our hearts.

HI Cindy, we may have had it relatively easy in the West in the last couple of hundred years, but when it comes back, it will come back with a vengence. The same spirit that was behind all of those martyrs is still alive and well. The remnant people of God will be a martyred people, that is why the Lord is seperating them and taking them to the desert so that they can learn to rely completly on Him. Yet, listening to the words of Algerius on the video will show you just how on fire he was even in the depths of the dungeon. This, of course, is not an isolated incident. When you study the martyr's you can see that the majority had this Spirit. If you play the video on full-screen, I think it brings it home just what humiliating deaths these brothers and siters had, they were killed like dogs in the street. Yet their humiliation here on earth is in direct proportion to the glory they experience in heaven. Of course I would reccommend Foxes Book of Martyrs, I have read it several times and I am always greatly blessed. It gives me a great perspective for my own light afflictions...................Frank

Wow! Sobering video, Frank. I'm going to have to watch it again, to hear the things you read, as we were reading the captions. We need to be reminded of this--not to instill fear, but to allow us to prepare our hearts. It is happening already in many places and there's no reason I can think of that we should expect or feel we deserve to be spared any more than our brothers and sisters in North Korea, Eritrea, Somalia, China, Iran, Libya, . . . .

Thanks!

This message is being sounded loud and clear...the trumpet is set to the mouth and is blowing the warning from the watchmen on the wall.

Hi, Martha

Wow--I so feel for you. Like Frank said, Thank God you are coming out. I was talking to God about this a couple of days ago and I felt like He was saying to me that my own wilderness experience had been necessary because it was the only way to get me turned around from mistaken thinking about Him--the kind of legalism/theology/philosophy/religion thing I had believed was the essence of following Him. He expressed it as pushing the "reset" button.

I think your first verse is: Joh 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

Maybe your second is: Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

It's a wild guess, but the third is possibly a combination of: Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

And: Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Yes, we do need to search the scriptures for ourselves and have that individual relationship with God. We also need one another to have that community relationship with Him and with each other. I'm not talking about sitting through a "church service," but about actively sharing our whole lives with one another. Not always easy to find, but absolutely worth seeking out in prayer and in the brothers and sisters around us. God's richest blessings.

Love, Cindy

You are right Martha, the old structures are being readied to be swept away. The Lord is going to do a new work in our day, perhaps the last great move before He returns............Frank

Praise God Martha that you are coming out of it. God alone determines the time and we must walk the path that unfolds before us for His Word says that the steps of a righteous man or woman is ordered of God. You are not alone sister. If you search my site, put in "Are you a lonely Christian?" Its by Tozer, I think that it will really speak to you................brother Frank

Hi Frank, i really enjoyed the dream that David shared. What a dream! Tho, i appreciated the interpretation, i would also like to share what came to me.As I was reading about the dream i could see The great America, as we know it, falling down. And that no one can repair the damage that has been done but God. This grand country that was so great is being redesigned, by the great Architect. The old structure will be no more.Even tho, i believe the Church is being reborn, i believe that includes the whole System of things. Thanks, Martha
