My mum was still alive and when she was told her words were God is good and Daniel will light up so many lives. My wife and I disagreed :)I could see her point of wanting Daniel to live a "normal life," but I can only tell you what the Lord told me, that "He was a perfect gift." Daniel shines his light in the darkness of this world. He is joyful and contented. He looks and speaks to everyone just for who they are. He does not notice age, or color, or handicap. I think that is why the old folk loved him when we used to go visit grandma there before she passed. Down Syndrome people do not kill anyone, they do not rape anyone , they do not hate. God doesn't give you what you pray for many times. Most of the time I have felt that God watches us.. and gives us MORE. I too was in a place in my life where everything had fallen into perfection. ( so I thought) After many years of pain ( usually self inflicted) I was going to have a perfect baby. I actually did. She just happened to have down syndrome. I wouldn't have her any other way.
